Gadget ini dikatakan ringan 5 gram daripada abangnya HTC Desire. Seperti yang dijangkakan ia dikuasai oleh Android 2.3 , Gingerbread dan HTC Sense. HTC Desire S dilengkapi dengan 5 megapixel camera yang boleh merakan video pada format 720p HD.
